AWESOME POST FROM TEJAS!!! STAY THIRSTY MY FRIENDS!!!
Hey Boyos!
Not sure if non-scoring stuff should be written here, but I make my own rules on blogspot :) Just writing some thoughts of what has been going on these past few days.
Well Saqi's mom is in town this week, but that has not kept me from getting what needs to be done.
Actually, I am pretty happy with the results so far. Despite being crazy sore, but in a good way, I not only feel better, but results are slowly starting to improve.
Most important to me is weight and that has already gone down to 249... Granted I had the most to lose, but thinking back to what I felt I had to do to lose this much in the past it really is great. Still, those are probably the easiest ones to lose, so lots of works left to be done.
I think that the combo of better diet and supplements has helped a bit because yesterday somehow I just was able to do one pullup, and the 2nd was sooooooo close. Granted, I looked like a sea lion caught in a noose over the Golden Gate, but I did something quite unexpected.
Additionally, I decided, no matter what, gonna get a mile in under 10mins and got a time of 9:31
I am going to really try hard on pushups today.
Oh, I am carry around a jug of water... an insatiable thirst and I am going to the pisser a lot. Any thoughts on that? Wu? Miller? Aside from the obvious of my body getting rid of waste, anything to be concerned on there?
In the end, I really feel (and as Miller pointed out earlier) losing the weight just makes hitting the other numbers so much easier. I am literally carrying around 70 extra pounds!
Right, to paraphrase a great commander, I will redouble my efforts.
I hope you all enjoyed my pic :)

This news story is about a study that shows that low carb diets work better than low calorie diets.

Here are some before and after photos of people who have successfully dropped 30 to 150 lbs using the slow carb diet that I have had so much personal success with...cheat day and all.
When you guys drop 30+ pounds in six weeks, you'll be glad you snapped that before picture!

Boyos, my futile attempts at pull-ups made me decide to get a yale gym membership for the year. I bought some high protein/low carb cereal today too.
ReplyDeleteI'm going with Miller's chipotle plan on days I'm at Brown, and I think it's already helping.
Sri, great call on the gym membership. That will make the challenge way easier for you, as well as give you a place to decompress when you are stressed. Make sure that if you go for my diet plan, as a vegetarian, that you are drinking tons of protein shakes. You have to be getting enough protein to repair and grow your muscles after you are done with the gym!
Deleteyou know whats healthy and delicious? deli...
ReplyDeletejust go to a market and buy a half pound or 1 lb 99% fat free honey ham or honey glazed turkey and that is your healthy, fresh protein with hardly any fat or carbs.
and for the vegetarians....what I do at night when I want to munch on something....I actually open a canned bottle of sweet corn....delicious...0 fat, little calories...slightly sweet but no sugar and it has a little protein but a shitload of fiber which is good for your colon, and fiber makes you full
Boyos (fyi, that is how we say hello in India... I also like the Austrian way more).
ReplyDeleteAwesome... Its been awhile since a scaled uttered a number starting with 23. Yeah, came in at 239.8 this morning. Granted, is was after a massive dump and I didn't have anything to drink, had a haircut AND shaved, plucked ass hairs, snorted all the snot I could out of my nose... well you get the idea. That is, I did everything (subconsciously, I'll claim) to get a favorable weighing-in number :)
Now lets keep that down and who knows, perhaps not this Sunday, but NEXT Sunday I'll weigh what I did when I got married: around 225.
Seriously folks, each time that number goes down a pound I push myself even more. I really cannot believe that this is happening. What I dont want to happen is to lay back at all. I've said this before, but Miller really nailed it with this competition for me... THANK YOU
And while it is good my weight is going down, I still have ALOT of work to go on the muscle/endurance side.
GOOD: I have almost a fun time with the pushups and pullups (granted, using a machine to build up a bit more right now on that).
BAD: for running it is something I just dont look forward to AT ALL. Suggestions on that? Or is it just something I have to endure before moving onto a more fun thing like biking after the competition?
Any other type of exercise that may help with running, other than running? :)
Bean salad for dinner w/ salsa... I look forward to it now!
